Stibbard Primary School in North Norfolk asked us to produce a school video showing a ‘virtual tour’ so that interested parents could get a feel for the layout of the school. Normally these parents would come and have a look around in person but with Coronavirus safety measures in place that wasn’t possible.
After meeting with key staff at the school we suggested that rather than a tour of the facilities it might be more attractive to parents to produce a school video showing what being a teacher or pupil at the school was like.
The staff did a great job of writing scripts and following them during their interviews however we wanted more personality so when filming the staff we made sure to just chat about what they love about the school and being a teacher. In the end most of the scripted parts were left out in favour of the heart felt feelings.
We also wanted to film the school with a child’s perspective so we use a handheld camera gimbal with plenty of movement to better capture that feeling.
Combined with interviews of the children and of course a healthy portion of aerial footage we think the final school video does a much better job of showing parents what the school is like than a virtual tour and the best thing is the school love it too!
If you’re interested in having a school video made then please get in touch and we’d love to chat further.
